Community Scholarship Recipient

Dexter Campbell

Dexter Campbell is one of the outstanding recipients of the Sandals Foundation Community Scholarship Award. He is currently a Sixth Form student at the St. Mary High School pursuing the Cambridge Advance Level Courses in Economics, Caribbean Studies, Accounts and Management of Business.  Born in the parish of St. Ann, Dexter is from a humble background, and while he may not have been able to afford many of the cool gadgets that his peers are accustomed to, he is a sharp, witty young man with a penchant for reading and playing soccer. As a business major he loves to read the business section of local and international newspapers.  Dexter currently resides with his mother, sister and stepfather and to him, “Mom is my hero and the person I admire most, because since my father died when I was very young, although it was rough at times, my mom has been a mother and a father to me and I really love and respect her for that.” His mother has been his rock during periods of financial hardships, which has helped him to be steadfast in his school work and social environment.
