Negril Recycling Center (Negril, Jamaica)

The Negril Recycling Center represents an environmental tool to assist in the diversion of waste going into landfills, oceans and freshwater habitats. An educational awareness and sensitivity initiative has also been devised which has significantly helped to mobilize the recycling effort in Negril as more people understand the need for it. The Sandals Foundation has pledged its commitment to see to the refurbishing and upgrading of infrastructure and equipment at the Center. The Sandals Foundation has to date donated funds towards the reconstruction of a bridge/roadway leading to the facility and contributed funds for the procurement of a shredder, critical to the recycling of plastic material.
