Marine Protected Areas

Preserving marine life

The Sandals Foundation Marine Sanctuaries Project is aimed at creating protected marine areas throughout Jamaica and use these to educate school children and fishermen alike about the value of marine life preservation and sustainability. Currently the Sandals Foundation is preparing for the identification and designation of two such sanctuaries in both the Ocho Rios, St. Ann and Whitehouse, Westmoreland marine environments.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries partnered with the Sandals Foundation for the launch of the Marine Protected Area, Boscobel, Jamaica
